Make My Day
I’ve had just enough – and I wish I had your hand to hold
Tryin’ not to watch the clock – just let my dreams unfold
I often get what I go for – at least that’s what my memories say
I very rarely am denied – So used to getting my way
But now I think I’ve fallen down the well
And I don’t want to see the light
Just lie beside you in the dark, we’ll have enough – we’ll be alright
I was thinkin’ of you and I wrote down these lines
Now I’m writin’ this song cuz I finally have the time
You were shy and a little scared but you still found a way
To be here, and help me smile and make my day
Well I saw you standin’ there – a flower blooming on the wall
I felt a blossom bourgeon in my belly – It seems I couldn’t help but fall
I’m told I’m quite intimidating – But I can’t see through other’s eyes
That’s why I’m glad you had the courage – to take a chance and look inside
But now I think I’ve fallen down the well
And I don’t want to see the light
Just lie beside you in the dark, we’ll have enough – we’ll be alright
I was thinkin’ of you and I wrote down these lines
Now I’m writin’ this song cuz I finally have the time
You were shy and a little scared but you still found a way
To be here, and help me smile and make my day

Insatiable
Pensive tension upon my brow
Wanting to find you but I don’t know how
So many closed doors but I’m open wide
I finally found somebody who is on my side
I’m a little bit nervous cuz I’m on fire
I’m a little bit frightened of my desire
Can I keep myself or will I lose again
Cuz it feels like fuckin’ time for me to win
Are your hands aching to mark my skin
Is your mouth ready to taste my sin
May I feed myself to your wolf within
I’m your good, good girl and I’m ready; let us begin
I didn’t choose to fall but I cannot stand
I don’t want to ask, but I might need you to hold my hand
This storm is coming and I can’t get clear
I don’t need to run cuz I can take it, my dear
Intoxicated by the taste of your moan in my mouth
I can't decide if I ever (never) want to come down
This love builds a longing to devour more
An insatiable need for me to implore
Are your hands aching to mark my skin
Is your mouth ready to taste my sin
May I feed myself to your wolf within
I’m your good, good girl and I’m ready; let us begin
I love to wear my willingness for all to see
I keep trying to be the person I want other people to be
I can finally come clean about my dirty mind
All the things I used to dream about have come to life
Are your hands aching to mark my skin
Is your mouth ready to taste my sin
May I feed myself to your wolf within
I’m your good, good girl and I’m ready; let us begin

Because I Can
So what’s your deal, what’s your action, what’s your plan
You’re acting like a boy – you’re supposed to be a man
Spreading hate and lies – wherever you go
I don’t need to listen to you – I know exactly what I wanna do
I just wanna go out – and have some fun
I don’t need to listen to you – Won’t be the one to let you play me for a fool
I’ll do what I want – because I can
You’re like a current pulling water down a river
And what you take can make a strong girl shiver
She will never let it hit her in her soul
I don’t need to listen to you – I know exactly what I wanna do
I just wanna go out – and have some fun
I don’t need to listen to you – Won’t be the one to let you play me for a fool
I’ll do what I want – because I can
At least I know you can’t hurt me – when I’m all alone
You can try and break me down – over the telephone
But I ain’t got time for you – can’t hear you anymore
And this time – I’m gonna walk right out that door
I don’t need to listen to you – I know exactly what I wanna do
I just wanna go out – and have some fun
I don’t need to listen to you – Won’t be the one to let you play me for a fool
I’ll do what I want – oh, I do what I want – I’ll do what I want because I can

Do Unto Others
You say that you love me -- but when I need it, it doesn’t show
You attend to the details -- but the big picture you forego
Potential alone won’t keep me satisfied
And in my heart that truth can’t be denied -- It cannot be denied
I could wear you down like a wave -- crashing and smoothing stones
Yet the strength of the sea -- it doesn’t reside in these bones
I can only lift you up, my friend -- I cannot make you stand
I cannot walk for you - I can only hold your hand
I cannot walk for you - I can only hold your hand
I’ve got one more pack of cigarettes -- and a dozen more tears to shed
The prize for consolation - is -- day after tomorrow I’ll be lying in my own bed
You hide behind your lack of accountability - It’s time to grow up and be a man
You don’t have to lie to me - Just do the best you can
You don’t have to lie to me - Just do the best you can
How do I selectively forget - that old saying that love is blind
And I’m trying my best not to regret -- the path I’ve taken so many times
You played me for a fool, my friend - and so you broke the golden rule
Do unto others - As you would have done to yourself
Do unto others - As you would have done to yourself

Hypnotized
One more lonely descent
Before I finally relent
and make it stop for a while
All of the old familiar aches
and all the mistakes that it takes
just to prove my own guile
I realize, I’m hypnotized, I cannot see the path
To righteousness, but who am I to dare to try
When righteousness only lets you hide what you don’t have deep inside
When every one of us makes his own decisions – am I right or am I wrong
All of these pages are
showing the stages of
my heartfelt development
Or at least trying
you can’t be denying all of the good
or at least all of the good intent
I realize, I’m hypnotized, I cannot see the path
To righteousness, but who am I to dare to try
When righteousness only lets you hide what you don’t have deep inside
When every one of us makes his own decisions – am I right or am I wrong
Am I right or am I wrong - Am I right or am I wrong
Can’t quench the thirst for first flutters
first there is that one, then there’s another
what’s the deal in the end
The path is a long one, I know
but this one’s a strong one, and it shows
you’re gonna make it around the bend
I realize, I’m hypnotized, I cannot see the path
To righteousness, but who am I to dare to try
When righteousness only lets you hide what you're lacking deep inside
When every one of us makes his own decisions – oh, I said every one of us makes his own decisions
Oh, well, every one of us makes his own decisions - am I right or am I wrong
Am I right or am I wrong

Heartsick Condition
I’ve got a crush on a criminal – and I don’t know why
All I know is how it feels inside
It should be easy to walk away – though I know sometimes that’s a lie
One I tell myself to get by
Seeing so much world – meeting so many more
And still a part of my heart stays – entangled with yours
Sometimes it seems though my body leaves
A piece of me stays with you in dreams
But there’s no peace - in our reality
I’ve gotta go, go, go – I’ve got another show, show, show
I can’t stay, stay, stay – I’ve got to head off and play, play, play
There’s no room to stand still – I’ve gotta move on - keep moving on
It’s really nice to feel – it’s been a long, long time
But something somewhere tells me - you could never really be mine
The click in my heart matches that from the door
As I march on -- Even if your heart is the floor
Can I stay here with you – Will you come back to me
Will I ever see you again – can you cross these great – seas
I wonder how much more of this we can endure
For this heartsick condition there is no known cure
Can I stay here with you, can you come back to me
Will I see you again, can you cross these great – seas
Can your heart cross the sea? For me?
I’ve gotta go, go, go – I’ve got another show, show, show
I can’t stay, stay, stay – I’ve got to head off and play, play, play
There’s no room to stand still – I’ve gotta move on - keep moving on

Colie’s Song
One moment, one instant – one blink of an eye
And everything changes – no reason or rhyme
It could be the best thing - that ever happened to you
Or it could be the worst and then what would you do - what would you do
You can cry on my shoulder, you can weep for the dead
But in the light of tomorrow, choose living instead
Make everything matter and don’t just exist
There is no other gift quite as precious as this
When someone you love – disappears – in a flash
It’s torture not to fall down, or burn up or crash
One lives for the living – its all you can do
You can’t give up and join her – she wouldn’t want you to
You can cry on my shoulder, you can weep for the dead
But in the light of tomorrow, choose living instead
Make everything matter and don’t just exist
There is no other gift quite as precious as this

Travellin Tune
My guitar smells like beer and I’m sure I smell like weed
So I sure hope that drug dog doesn’t come and sit down next to me
I smoked my very last spliff last night, so I have nothing for you to see
But lord I hope that old drug dog doesn’t come and sit down next to me
I was partyin’ in St. Maarten then it was time to fly back home
But I surely felt disheartened when I became that old doggie’s bone
On the road I might engage in some harmless -- illegal activities
But I’d never be so stupid as to carry that shit with me
My guitar smells like beer and I’m sure I smell like weed
So I sure hope that drug dog doesn’t come and sit down next to me
I smoked my very last spliff last night, so I have nothing for you to see
But lord I hope that old drug dog doesn’t come and sit down next to me
I found myself working in Norway where the laws are very strict
So I had to be extra careful who I asked to scratch my itch
I met a man who was active on the church and soup kitchen scenes
So he knew a few good people who could provide me with some real nice greens
My guitar smells like beer and I’m sure I smell like weed
So I sure hope that drug dog doesn’t come and sit down next to me
I smoked my very last spliff last night, so I have nothing for you to see
But lord I hope that old drug dog doesn’t come and sit down next to me
I’m lucky enough to work in Amsterdam a couple-a times a year
The people there don’t all indulge but the attitude is way fuckin’ better than here
I don’t worry when I smoke my last and get myself ready to fly
Cuz there ain’t no stinkin’ drug dogs in a place where everybody’s high
